Another collaboration with my multi-faceted neighbor Chai (remember him - he composed the soundtrack for my Wrinkle 2000 pano!). Below is an overview picture of Chai and the installation as it hung in the gallery . Out of context here, but now it has taken on a whole new life of its own.

Chai carved and painted a series of 12 continuous wooden panels (each about 2 feet by one foot), then he hinged them and suspended them in an arc. He carves with a router, actually uses it sort of as a drawing tool. When I photographed the series, the divisions between each panel were quite visible. Chai was interested to see it in this seamless form so I have been cloning away in Photoshop. When I showed it to him, he said "Hey, it looks like a cartoon!"
